Do you think I could get some sweet 60/70s Blues Rock sound with this amp and a Epiphone dot?
Something like The Grateful Dead, Yes, Cream, Ten Years After etc.

You could get great blues and rock sounds with the Champ 600 and an Epi DOT.
For $119 you could get Pregain, Reverb and Tremolo from a VOX Pathfinder 15R but the 15R is solid state.
Either amp would be great. I'm just suggesting one option in the same price range.
Try both in a guitar shop and tell me what you think.

@studio1087 You can't honestly compare solid state to tubes. I've heard the pathfinder. That thing can't do anything good except clean tones. This one can do some nice clean tones, AND blues. You won't find tube distortion in solid states, after all. :P

You're right in a purist sense. Tubes are tubes....the Holy Grail....yes.
I DO like the OD from a Pathfinder. It has a transparent jangle to it (to my ear).
I just bought one of the new AC15VR hybrids and I love it but my Princeton Reverb will always be my AMP.
Toys - toys - toys.
Tubes do rule...can't argue that.

John, I like the tone you are getting with the 600. I have had a Frontman 25R on order forever and am wondering how you think the Champion 600 compares to the Frontman 25R?

25R's are available everywhere. Who did you order it from and why are they making you wait?
The 25R has pregain for overdrive and three way EQ. You'll get more sounds out of the 25R. The champ is a retro purist thing,,,you get cleans and some overdrive as you turn it up....the 600 only has a volume knob.
If you want to be able to dial several tones, stick with the 25R.
If you want a simple warm tube sound the Champ is great.

Thanks for the info. I ordered it from instrument Pro online. They are out of stock until 20 August (ordered mine in May) at most places like Musiciansfriend, Guitar Center, and Sweetwater. Fender said that they had a production problem at the factory. They do have the 25R in the RED case in stock but that thing is gaudy looking so I am still waiting for mine in the normal black case. I know color does not affect tone, I just cannot stand the color red. Thanks again.....

A solid state winner is the Vox Pathfinder 15R. 15 watts with reverb and tremolo for $119. The 15R will power a larger cabinet. I have a 15r and I love it. Search Vox Pathfinder 15R demos on YouTube. I would take the Vox over the solid state Fender. FYI.

The Champ 600 and a Casino would be great together.
I often play my Les Paul Jr with the Champ 600 late at night.
P-90 pickups (like your Casino) and a simple tube amp are a joy.
I get the best use of my Champ 600 just sitting and noodling at tame volumes....it's a simple and warm little amp. You'll love it with the P-90's.
Champ 600's love pedals. You can use any pedal with great success.
