@SRVthenumberONE Flip the switch to stereo mode. When you do this it cuts the cab in half giving the cab a total of 8ohms input per jack. Turn the ohm knob on the amp to 8ohms and plug into either side of the cab. So you are really only using 2 speakers unless you plug another head into the cab or use the other speaker output jack on the amp.

Slash used a modded JCM 800 for appetite.
It had an added preamp section. Google it for more info tho. There was a specific man who did the modifing, and i believe he still does it.
